Love yourself enough

When your going through this journey called fitness, the feelings of inadequecy come up quickly. The doubt that you will ever get to your goal be it weight loss, gain or cutting up play horrid mind games. When that happens you must stop those thoughts. One way to do this is to love yourself enough to enjoy the journey.

I have found that love covers a many of sins be it over eatting, not working out or doing other not so positive activities. Love protects you and pushes you all at the same time. Unconditional love is a must in this journey. No amount of discipline can revile the grace and mercy of love.

Take a deep look in the mirror. Do you love what you see? If you don't your journey needs to go deeper. What if you never get to goal or it doesn't turn out the way you desire. You can't suppress your happiness and joy because your not at a size 2. Loving yourself will also give you the strength to do things when you don't desire to do them.

Currently,I have been going through many life challenges such as the possibility of a job loss,my pageant outcome and life pains. Depression would keep me at home in the dark however self-love no matter how small keeps me pushing to keep strieving and to never give up.

If you give up on love for yourself then this journey matters not and you are wasting time. Love yourself today, you will be happy you did! Until next time Fitness Beauties, keep that shine about you,it attracts greatness!

Beauty Thought: Light from within

I always want to feel extra pretty in all I do. I have fought that thought that I was not a glam type of lady. However, under much review I can finally see the light. This light doesn't come from bronzer rs or special box lighting but from within. When you unleash your true self a really beautiful thing happens. I have notice my own beauty. My beauty isn't defined by perfectly applied makeup, waist length hair or flat abs. It's defined by my mere existence in the world.

When you start seeing your own light things change so dramatically. The very flow of your world shifts. I have noticed a new energy that is scary but yet so refreshing. I hope that someone today taps into their own light and let's it shine!

When it all falls down

I have a secret. It’s not nice but it’s the truth. I have been in a weight loss stall for 3 months. It hurts my very substance because I enjoyed seeing the scale go down. However, in times of difficulty one must dig deeper and push through. I won’t lie and say I haven’t been disheartened. I have cried, thrown stuff and felt like screw it I just will stay fat. Stalls aren’t very great on the psyche because if you really are pushing and going with all your might it will be discouraging.
However, even though the scale doesn’t’ move you can’t quit. When it all feels like for not and you feel that everything has fallen down you have to ask your self :Do I really want this. Once you dig deeper you may still not get immediate changes. Moreover, it still may take some time to see a difference on the scale. This is the time to re-evaluate your goal and your current body state.  At times our bodies, which are beautifully complex, don’t desire to go any lower.  At other times it’s discovered we haven’t been as diligent in our journeys as we thought.
Weight loss slumps at times can be easily remedied by closely monitoring what we are eating and how we are working out. For instance, I have been one who has under ate and lost 70lbs.  However, the body will only allow this for so long.  We must fuel our bodies properly in order to not wreak havoc on our bodies. So now I’m upping the calories a bit and will have to take some time to see if this will correct the problem. Another suggestion could be to change your training plan up. The plan you used starting out will not be good for the whole process especially if you have great amounts to lose. Every 6-8 weeks one should change the plan in order to keep the body from getting a bit to accustomed to your routine. That goes for food as well. Life has spice so spice it up a bit in your weight loss journey.

No matter how hard the journey feels we can’t give into our feelings. They are fickle and ever changing like the wind. We have to stand firm on our goal. You have to know you are a champ in the making and that you must keep fighting. We must remember if we stop we only hurt ourselves and we will have to start over.  I don’t want to start over so I will keep lacing up my running shoes and keep working. Until next time, remember to stay beauitful as you are a fitness beauty!

I do it because I love it!

We all have been there its 6pm on a work night. You’re tired, cranky and stuck in traffic. I don’t know if I’m alone but the last thing on my mind is going to the gym and running. However when you love yourself you will do things that are seemingly hard. Think back to when you were little. Your mom and dad or whoever raised you sacrificed because they loved you. A many of tired mornings and working jobs that they hated in order to provide. In the same sense, we must do the hard things in order to love ourselves. At times it may mean taking a rest day, drinking water when we would rather drink a cup of coffee, or going to the gym when you would rather go home. Love will make you push hard.

During the journey, you have to have self-love. It’s the driving force that won’t let you beat yourself up if you slip but the drive to not continue making the same mistakes. Self-love isn’t vain nor is it about buying things. Self-love is respect for yourself and understanding. The journey will not always be easy nor will it always show instant gratification. However, with love you will be able to build your endurance thus creating great character. That character won’t just be in the form of a great body but also an increase of self-confidence that you can take on the world and rock it!

Until next time Fitness Beauties, be great and allow your glow to show!

Discipline makes Champions

On days when I want to go home and just chill out,I have to remember I'm training not for swimsuit season but for the rest of my life. Working out is vital to one’s health. We all should strive to be the best we can possible be. Working out has to be important to you for you to make it a priority. Many times, we want the results but are not willing to put in the work to get there.

We all have a million things to do, however unless you make yourself important you will not be able to be excellent in all you do. I had to undertake that thought process in my own life. I give 8 hours plus on a job for people who may not ever appreciate my efforts, therefore it would be insane of me not to invest at least 1 hour 4 times a week to ensure I'm in tip top shape physically.

In my research, top athletes train with the end in mind. Whatever their sport is they train for the victory in mind. For instance, as the Olympics are coming underway, athletes have trained for countless hours in order to be ready to go for the gold. What makes the distinction in winners is the drive to train no matter if it is an off day. In those seemingly bad days, the person who workouts and trains hard will grow by leaps and bounds.

The work you put into today will build for a brighter tomorrow. Fitness success builds one’s self worth up thus this will travel into other areas of your life. You are already great champion just because your on this planet, but you deserve to be even greater. Until next time, continue to be the greatest Fitness Beauty!
